 | The Millis High School D.A.R.E. Role Model program operates as a
cooperative venture between the Millis, Mass. D.A.R.E. program sponsored by
the police department. Millis High School's role is to provide a core of
responsible students to participate in D.A.R.E. sessions at the fifth and
seventh grade levels throughout the city schools. |
 | MHS students apply voluntarily. Role models are chosen who exemplify the
qualities which the D.A.R.E. program seeks to promote. A role model may be
removed from the program at any time for conduct unbecoming to the program
or for infractions of the MHS student conduct code. |
 | Role models are chosen to represent a variety of school and community
activities and a variety of personalities. The role models go into the
elementary and middle schools as resource people and role models for the
younger students. They do this on their own, as well as on school time. |
 | Being a role model is both a privilege and a responsibility. A diligent
attempt is made to select outstanding individuals who agree to accept the
responsibility of being a role model. Those selected must feel a commitment
and allegiance to the program and its ideals. |
